Modeling Services in Information Systems Architectures

چکیده
Twenty years ago, Zachman proposed a framework – the Information Systems Architecture – that was certainly one of the main contributions to the Enterprise Architecture research area. More recently, the concept of service was proposed and largely adopted, thus introducing another but fundamental perspective about how organizations not only operate internally but also relate with stakeholders. In this paper we propose an extension to the Zachman framework that incorporates the concept of service.

Cognitive Architectures (CAs) are the core of artificial cognitive systems. A CA is supposed to specify the human brain at a level of abstraction suitable for explaining how it achieves the functions of the mind. Over the years a number of distinct CAs have been proposed by different authors and their limitations and potentials were investigated. These CAs are usually classified as symbolic and...

Service-oriented architectures (SOA) aim to define a common approach for both the providers and consumers of services by introducing the mechanisms necessary to publish services, to search for services, and to request the execution of services. The proliferation of the providers of services offering identical or similar services has led customers to choose services based on information behind t...
متن کاملMethodology for Requirements Analysis and Design in Development of Service-Oriented Information Systems
Service orientation and Model Driven Development are the pillars of modern Information Systems. Service-oriented information systems are composed of loosely coupled and interoperable services driven by requirements of users. New modelling facilities are proposed to enable effective service development including more rigorous requirements definition, reconciliation and transformations of require...

Clinical Information Systems (CIS) are complex environments that integrate information technologies, humans, and patient data. Given the sensitivity of patient data, federal regulations require health care providers to define privacy and security policies and to deploy enforcement technologies. The introduction of model-based design techniques, combined with the development of high-level modeli...
